The town of Lubrin is just 5 minutes walk from the villa, the village that sits high in the Sierra de Los Filabres. It began as a medieval settlement to become what is now a charming enclave of tranquillity and tradition.
The village has interesting architecture and the Parish Church de la Virgin del Rosario, built in the late 19th century, stands out with its electric style.
There are several cafe/bars in the village, the Los Molinos restaurant has been recently been voted the best tapas bar in Almeria. It has 3 mini markets, a post office, pharmacy and a town hall with internet cafewpcb4c78a7.png The No. 1 place for tapas in Almeria. The Wednesday market provides an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables.
The villagers of Lubrin observe the Fiesta del Pan (Fiesta of Bread) in honour of San Sabastián every 20th January. Illuminations are held every 14th August.
There are many small hamlets around Lubrin well worth visiting to experience the traditional Andalusian lifestyle.
